WP1 – Synthesis of parent model glasses and ceramics

Start and end of the work package: from Month 01 to Month 06

It is connected to synthesis of parent model glasses and ceramics. It is foreseen to obtain model glasses with different crystallization ability and synthesis of proper-type ceramics with elevated crystallization ability. The obtained model glasses will possess significant differences in the crystallization ability, corresponding to each of the main types of sintered glass-ceramics that will be obtained afterwards. In this WP it is also foreseen to obtain ceramics with high crystalline amount, which form anorthite and / or pyroxene during cooling process. Such compositions are appropriate for sintering in traditional or microwave ovens. All of the obtained model glasses and ceramics in WP-1 will be an experimental basis for all further scientific activities in the Project.
